These terms cover your use of pleasantmischief.com and of the games and other projects we publish, including Phones at the Table. They’re written to be read. By using our website or apps, you agree to them.

1 Who we are

The website and our apps are provided by Pleasant Mischief LLC, an independent creative studio based in Portland, Oregon, USA (“Pleasant Mischief,” “we,” “us”).

2 Our work belongs to us

The games, artwork, illustrations, characters, writing, audio, animation, logos, design and software we create are original work owned by Pleasant Mischief LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. “Pleasant Mischief,” “Phones at the Table” and our logos are our names and marks.

3 What you may do

You’re welcome to browse this website, share links to it, and use our apps for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. Unless we give you permission in writing, please don’t:

• copy, sell, republish or redistribute our artwork, writing or other content;
• copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell our apps or software, except where the law allows it;
• use our names or logos in a way that suggests we endorse you;
• interfere with the website or apps, or try to access parts of them you’re not meant to reach.

If you obtained an app through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard licence terms for apps also apply.

4 Playing together, responsibly

Our multiplayer games are meant to be played face to face with people who have chosen to play. When you play:

• be kind, and respect other players’ boundaries — anyone can sit out a round or stop playing;
• don’t use the games to harass, threaten, embarrass or harm anyone;
• don’t photograph, record or share other players without their permission;
• don’t enter content that is unlawful, hateful, or that you don’t have the right to share;
• keep your surroundings in mind — please don’t play while driving or anywhere it isn’t safe to look at your phone or your friends.

You are responsible for what you say and do while playing. We may limit or end access for anyone who misuses our games.

5 Third-party services

Our website and apps rely on services run by other companies — for example, website hosting, app distribution through Apple, and the internet connections and devices you use. Those services have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we don’t control those sites.

6 Disclaimers

We work hard to make good things, but our website and apps are provided “as is” and “as available.” We can’t promise they will always be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for every purpose, and to the extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties. Some of our apps are in development or testing and may change, break, or be withdrawn.

7 Limits on liability

To the extent permitted by law, Pleasant Mischief LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or our apps. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8 Changes

We may update these terms as our projects grow. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the website or apps after an update means you accept the revised terms.

9 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
